Bring snacks for athletes at meets
Track meets are long and our kids are growing! With adults providing snacks, we can help athletes properly fuel and recover. Gift bags are only for the Regional Meet and the State Meet. Senior night will be at our home meet. If you can bring snacks or volunteer at meets, please sign up on the google document.
Volunteer at meets
Some of our meets cannot happen without your help. At Wednesday region meets, we are either hosting a meet or required to bring volunteers to run one or two field events while competing at another school. These meets are local and the tasks are easy and we are there for explanations. It will consist of calling out the next competitors name, writing down their mark, and measuring their mark, returning implements/raking the sandpit (multiple people working together). If you can bring snacks or volunteer at meets, please sign up on the google document.
End of year banquet
Everyone needs to celebrate a little! Our end-of-year banquet is for both athletes and parents. Parent involvement in this process will guarantee that both parties feel loved and celebrated. Please see the end of year banquet sheet for information on set up, food, beverage, entertainment, and decoration needs.
Host a pasta party or bring a side dish.
For those of you parents who are new, pasta parties serve as an opportunity for the students to get together and share a meal and hang out the day before our invitational meets. ALL TEAM MEMBERS ARE INVITED even if they are not participating at the meet. The family that hosts can expect 40-50 students (here are notes from a previous pasta party host). The title of this section is a link to a google document that can be modified by anyone who has the link. If all parents could sign up for one or a few of the different slots we should be able to get them all covered. This will also allow you as parents to sign up for the day that works best for you.
If you sign up to be a host, please include your address and phone number as well as the time you would like the pasta party to start (generally 5:00-5:30ish). If you sign up for sides you can send those with your athlete or drop them off yourself. You could also contact the host parent and see if they could use any other assistance. We have a great group of athletes on the team and this is a fantastic way to show your support. Thank you for all of your help and especially to those of you willing to open up your homes to the students.
Donations
The Track & Field team always accepts donations as most track and field equipment is pricey. You can donate money to the team on the school webstore. You can also donate used running shoes, spikes, and other training equipment. All equipment, money, etc will be used exclusively for team gear and equipment that is essential for our athletes' training and competition.
Please contact the Olympus High School office or Coach Reed Ericson ([email protected]) to make donations.
