Even though our school sponsored trip to Simplot was cancelled, a handful of athletes were determined to compete. I am so proud of those who made the extra effort to make the drive in order to continue tapping into their competitive nature and stay true to their commitment of self-improvement! We are all especially proud of KATE THOMAS who qualified for the 3200m final for the second year in a row. Simplot Games attracts high-level competition and Kate's dedication to the sport has allowed her talent to soar. She finished 9th overall with a time of 11:41, her best finishing time on the famous wooden banked 200m track.
Two weeks ago, we had a couple athletes compete at the Utah Distance Challenge. Jackson Dymond finished 9th in a very fast race. He ran 4:26 which is a season best. Way to go, Jackson!
